My 9 year old brother is getting white hair?

He is only 9 years old and he is already getting white hairs. It started a year ago. My first cousin also has white hair but his started at age of 17. Could it be genetic? Is there a cure? He is worried.

Yes it could be genetic. I started getting gray hair in high school (9th grade). All the women in my family have grayed prematurely. Those of us who want to look our age have chosen to color although I'm not sure that is the direction your 9 year old brother is going to want to take.

He could go in and have highlights put in his hair, that will cause the gray hair to blend in with his other hair better so it won't be so noticable.

i don't know what it is called but there is a condition that makes you get gray hair at a young age. i knew a girl in hs that had it. she was constantly coloring her hair.

That is hereditary.Really not much you can do. Pre-mature Grey runs in the family. Tell him not to worry, ..could be worse, could be balding..but embrace it, if it gets worse, get dye, color it. A close Friend of mine , starting going Grey in 10-11 yrs old, by the time she was 16-18 , she was all salt %26amp; pepper, Runs in the family..so she just colors it now...

Be ok..nothing to wrorry or think there is a cure, cant when genetics play apart in it..
