Actually I don't much care whether Alistair Darling is gay/straight/whatever, but he does remind me of some sort of Thunderbirds character.

The poor fellow's hair went white when he knew he was doing a job for which he is surely very poorly equipped. His mind and his eyes are poorly related and this is why his eyebrows remain black. I suspect the PM's hair will become much greyer when he realises the mess he is in.
