i have been freaking out about this one white hair and im so young? so i wanted to know if it was normal, what are the causes, and how to slow down or prevent more white hairs from coming

It's genetic, I'm afraid. You won't be able to prevent new white hairs growing in. My mum started dying her hair when she was 15 to hide the grey hairs.

I was born with 2 gray hairs. The rest of my hair is nearly black. It's completely normal; in fact, if people looked through their hair really closely, my guess is that many of them would find white or gray hairs.

Dye probably won't cover it up, sorry. Everyone I have ever known with naturally white hairs haven't been able to get them to dye. I can't even get my 2 grays to dye, but I look at them as character!

Mine started at 13. I simply ignored it until I hit 40 when I started covering the grey with my natural color. I'm 48 now. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any way to stop it from happening at all.

Don't worry about it much. It's most likely in your genetics, like me.

However, you MIGHT want to ask a doctor to do a complete bloodwork on you just to make sure something else isn't causing this. I've heard that there are some other conditions that can cause premature greying but don't know if they're serious or not. Your doctor should be able to clarify this for you.

It's not what most would consider "normal", but as a hair stylist, I get this question alot from clients. It's not abnormal to have grey hair at your age. It's genetic, and just a prequel to what's to come. Look at your parnets, (particular the men in your family). Do most of them have alot of grey? Really, there is nothing to freak out about. A lot of women find it appealing. I know I do!!!!
