Help!!Grey/White Hair at the Age of 20!!!?

O.J I had to stop my day at work and ask this question. I was in the bathroom fixing my hair and recently, I found about 3 or 4 stands of white/grey hair. Im freaking here cuz Im only 20!And I pulled them out. My family has no history of pre-mature white hair growth, so where can these annoying little things coming from?If I pull them out, do more come out and whats the best way to cover them?Perm dye??Please help Im feeling so old here!

If you look up the reason for pre-mature greying on the internet, you'll find what you need to know. It doesn't necessarily mean you are going to go all grey right away. A grey hair is actually a transparent hair, which means it is lacking melanin (the substance that gives hair its color). Melanin is produced by your body, and sometimes everyone even when you're really young, like 10 even, you will get a grey hair. Most times you don't even notice them because they're at the back of your head or whatever. There's really nothing you can do about it (which is ok because I find that grey hair is actually sometimes sexy anyways). So, you aren't actually going grey, you're just lacking melanin in your scalp. It replenishes itself. Look it up on google or yahoo, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Good luck! It is probably due to stress. Usually if a person is overly stressed out about something, it may cause for grey/white hair to appear. The only way I can think of covering it up would be to dye them. (Thats what I would do.)

If its just a couple you should just pull them out. Its a little silly to dye everything for a couple stands. Its definetly genetic. Maybe somewhere a little further down the line. I wouldnt worry about it. When they become plentiful you can worry about covering them up.

well sometimes they can come prematurally from stress. and how frantic you are in this paragraph i can tell you stress alot. relax take deep breathes and if that doesn't help them from coming in more. then go and get you some hair rinse. but please RELAX first

Reduce your Stress!! When my Mom died, the entire are around my neck went white. I was 33

If its only two or Three don't panic. It will be years before you will have enough to worry about putting a dye on.

I have had 4 gray strands that have been in a certain spot on my head since I was 13. I pluck them when I see them, and not once have they grown back any thicker, quicker, or more of them have come up. If you really are freaking out, and dye your hair regularly, just make sure to pay special attention to that area. Otherwise, its not worth the money and time and effort to dye your WHOLE head one color for three hairs. I had a friend who when u seperated her hair in the back she had handfuls of white hair, and she just lived with it. Never died her hair, but that would be when it is worth it. I say, pluck those buggers!

Well the premature gryaing has to start SOMEWHERE! LOL...ok, ok...bad joke. I started turning gray in my 20's but my mom started early as well. I've been dying my hair for years now and hate to think what it would look like if i just let it go (I'm almost 43 now) . You only found a few gray hairs so I wouldn't worry about coloring just yet unless you want to.

It is normal to find a few grey strands, that doesn't mean that you are going grey. Do you stress alot? Sometimes over stressing can cause grey hair, a friend of mine who is under significant stress in her home life has acquired a few grey hairs last year, she is 19. If thats not the reason, maybe you could look into putting a cellophane coating on your hair. It's a protective coating for your hair that has a slight color. You can find one to match the color of your hair,it will hide those strands and add shine and life to your hair.

its just stress..stress causes greys and whites also have you dyed your hair...cause my little sister dyed her hair and it started growing back in as GET THIS grey !!!! shes 12 years old......how weird is that...but yeah im only 16 and when i am stressing about a test or about anything (or when that time of the month comes around) my hair starts turning grey ..so dont worry about it ...do some meditation or something (being serious here) to relieve your mind

My room mate (who is 21) has grey hairs. She doesn't woprry about it. I wouldn't worry about ti neither unless you can notice it when you are standing three feet away. Most people aren't going to look closesly at your head, looking for any flaws in color. I would wait to dye it until it is more noticeable.
