Is it true if you pull out one white hair you will get 10 more? I am only a teen and i discovered i have a few white hairs. My hair is black and my mom said if i pull them out, 10 more will grow. Is this true and if so how is it possible? What are the white hairs from?

Yep. that definitely is a true answer. i started havein premature grey hairs in my teens. I was told by many that I would have a bald patch. However, I ended up with more hairs. Unfortunatley, they were all gray or white

No, actually.

There is only one hair follicle per hair, and the hair follicle can only produce one hair.

If its white already to my understanding it will continue to produce white hair. But if you pull one out it will produce only one more white hair. Provided you don't also pull out the follicle. If you do that, no more hair grows from that spot; but with all the hair around it no one will be able to see.

I know that problem myself, at 26 I've already found 4 spots with a single white hair being produced; I also have a couple of wrinkles forming on my forehead. I'm aging far too quickly for my own taste.

No its a myth for sure or I would have nothing but white hair now. I am 35yrs old. I found my first one when I was 12. I began pulling them out, but they just come back (1 in place of 1) I now have lots of them, yea not what you want to hear I'm sure, but hey it's life. The more you stress and stress over this particalur subject the more you will get. Let it go. After all that is why they sell hair dye in stores. Or if you are wealthier than I, then a salon will be your answer. Just remember it is not the end of the world. Have fun with it, change your color often and tell people that you are experimenting with different colors to see what you like best. Best of luck to ya! -- Ocean.
