im a 17 year old boy with white hair..will black hair dye damage my hair?and if so what can i do to reduce the damage after i dye it.need help please.and please answer straight to the point.

The dye will damage your hair, however, if your hair is short, you shouldn't worry about it too much. To reduce the damage, make sure you routinely repair/restore your hair with conditioners that are meant for dry, brittle, or dyed hair. Also try to avoid too much stress to keep away from more white hairs. Gluck!

Most products damage your hair, it's dead tissue, so the best way to reduce damage is to reduce the amount you cause. If you're going to dye it, make sure you buy *quality* hair dyes. No WalMart or CVS brands. If you have a lot of grey, you're better off to get dye formulated for grey hair specifically. The chemical makeup of grey strands of hair is different from the colored ones, if you get standard hair dye you will have to leave it in longer to cover it up, and you risk frying your hair.

After you dye it, buy *quality* hair care products *specifically* for color-treated hair, and use conditioner. Unless your hair is super oily, do not wash daily, just rinse it and use a leave-in conditioner to restyle (like TiGI Bed Head Spoil Me). How often you will have to shampoo and condition is going to depend on your hair and will take some experimentation to get right, I suggest start by doing both every other day and modify as warranted.

did you just immigrate? The water textures in other parts of the world can be quite different from where you are right now. Lots of people experience your same problem, some even at an younger age. Dye definately will damage your hair, but not too strongly, so if you prefer black hair, it is fine to dye it.

Either way, your hair will be damaged if dyed. Being a guy, though, it won't really matter. (Assuming that your hair is short.)
